The Behavioral Health Wellness Environments for Living and Learning (BH WELL) research team enjoyed meeting students at Wellapalooza on October 12th from 3pm-5pm in the Barker Plaza area located outside the University of Kentucky (UK) Gatton Student Center. This event focused on providing health and wellness resources to students on campus.

This year, 500+ students engaged with student well-being resources and over 250 flu vaccines were given. About 90 people stopped by the BH WELL table, where participants were invited to take a gratitude challenge! We also provided copies of our comic book series, tobacco cessation research information, and behavioral health resources. Great conversations were had about BH WELL's mission, evidence-based grounding techniques, tobacco cessation, student research opportunities with BH WELL, and our evidence-based comic book series!

Anyone looking for a cool, free giveaway was invited to follow BH WELL on social media (@ukbhwell on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram). Social media is an easy way to keep updated on all of BH WELL’s giveaways and new, always free resources.

Wellapalooza is hosted each year by the UK Office of Student Success. The Office of Student Success fosters holistic well-being by developing informed, empowered, and academically-successful UK students through engagement, collaboration, and the development of inclusive, evidence-based initiatives that strengthen and improve health behavior. Wellapalooza is an opportunity to meet with UK wellness partners to learn more about free services that support a healthy lifestyle.

BH WELL is a mental and behavioral health research team housed in the University of Kentucky College of Nursing. We partner with groups like the UK Wellness team to support and encourage prioritization of self-care as well as mental and behavioral health. BH WELL exists to promote behavioral health and wellness among individuals facing behavioral health challenges.
