Eastern State Hospital hosted a Screening Brief Intervention and Referral for Treatment (SBIRT) Lunch and Learn workshop on April 19, 2019. Dr. Dianna Inman provided this comprehensive, integrated, public health approach to the delivery of early intervention and treatment services. Attendees received a 1-hour Continuing Education credit. SBIRT is a screening tool used during discussions with individuals living with substance use disorders, tobacco use, and individuals at higher levels of risk. The 28 participants learned how numerous settings provide excellent opportunities for early intervention with at-risk substance users, tobacco users, and other at-risk individuals.
