
BH WELL Lunch & Learn: Stopping Smoking Mindfully with Dr. Lee Anne Walmsley
BH WELL hosted a FREE virtual lunch and learn, Stopping Smoking Mindfully, on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. The training was led by Dr. Lee Anne Walmsley, Associate Professor and Assistant Dean of Wellness and Well-Being at the University of Kentucky College of Nursing. The webinar included a training video with an example of a mindful breathing activity, and a facilitated discussion. This training is approved for 1 CE through the Kentucky Board of Nursing (#4-0700-12-24-807) and through the Kentucky Board of Social Work (KBSWSP 202341).
The primary learning outcomes for this training are:
- Describe factors associated with tobacco use dependence among persons living with mental and behavioral health challenges.
- Describe evidence-based mindfulness treatment approaches when providing tobacco dependence services to persons living with mental and behavioral health challenges.
- Implement mindfulness activities and resources to enhance tobacco treatment for those living with mental and behavioral health challenges
