The Kentucky Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Program (KTPC) will have a booth promoting Quit Now Kentucky and My Life, My Quit at Kentuckiana Pride in Louisville Kentucky on June 17, 2023. BH WELL will join KTPC and local health department staff at the booth.

Kentuckiana Pride is one of the largest LGBTQ+ events in Kentucky. This event aims to promote social, economic, and health equity of Kentuckiana’s sexual and gender minorities. BH WELL is excited to attend this event to aid Kentuckiana Pride in its pursuit of health among sexual and gender minorities. Resource materials for those individuals considering stopping smoking or vaping will be provided.

The LGBTQ+ population is among the hardest hit by tobacco in the United States. About 1 in 6 (15.3%) of lesbian, gay, and bisexual adults smoke cigarettes, compared to about 1 in 9 (11.4%) of heterosexual/straight adults*. Stopping smoking has several physical as well as psychological benefits to one's health. BH WELL realizes that stopping smoking can be a difficult task which is why we are proud to promote several helpful resources! My Life, My Quit™ is a free and confidential way to quit smoking or vaping.
