This free workshop will discuss the importance of normalizing tobacco treatment in mental and behavioral health treatment settings. The target audience for this workshop is tobacco treatment specialists, health educators, and other health professionals. We have approval for workshop participants to be eligible for 2 CEs through the Kentucky Board of Nursing and are currently seeking approval for 2 CEs through the Kentucky Board of Social Work.

Certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine, Khara’s current work primarily focuses on treating tobacco use disorder but also extends into other areas of tobacco control. Khara leads the St. Paul’s Hospital Smoking Cessation Clinic and is a Clinical Assistant Professor, Faculty of Medicine, at the University of British Columbia.

Gretchen Clark Hammond is the CEO of Mighty Crow, a professional services and evaluation firm in Columbus, OH. Prior to launching Mighty Crow in 2012, she was the Director of Research and Grants Administration at a long-term treatment center for women and their dependent children. Recent achievements include the Ohio Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers’ 2024 Lifetime Achievement award and induction into The Ohio State College of Social Work’s Hall of Fame in 2020 with a Distinguished Career Award.  She is a licensed social worker, licensed chemical dependency counselor, and a certified tobacco treatment specialist.
