Sarret Seng, PhD, BA, BSN, RN, is originally from Southern California, where she received a BA in Psychology while conducting neurobehavioral research, before completing her BSN and PhD in Nursing at UK. With a background working as a psychiatric nurse at an inpatient facility, her research examines substance abuse treatment programs for people living with severe and persistent mental illness. While a Graduate Research Assistant, her research involved interviewing study participants, developing tobacco cessation infographics, contributing to the development and publication of original research papers, and assisting in program coordination as a research assistant working with Dr. Okoli. She also presented the team’s work at multiple conferences, including the American Psychiatric Nurses’ Association and Southern Nursing Research Society conferences. Dr. Seng is currently a NIDA T32 Postdoctoral Fellow at University of Kentucky. Read her PhD Graduation Spotlight here.
