Kristina Yau

Visiting Scholar

Kristina Yau is a medical student at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine in Ottawa, Canada. She graduated on the Dean’s Honour List from McGill University with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Pharmacology and Therapeutics. Kristina is a student of the Global Health Concentration program at her medical school. She is currently pursuing a scholarly project with Dr. Chizimuzo Okoli, looking at the associations of smoke-free policy with tobacco use and consumption among patients with psychiatric disorders living in rural and urban areas. She presented their research findings at the 13th Annual Ottawa Conference: State of the Art Clinical Approaches to Smoking Cessation. In July 2021, she will be presenting at the International Conference on Healthcare and Public Health.
