Katie Wakeman

Katie Wakeman, BA is a Counseling Psychology master's student at the University of Kentucky in the Education Department. She completed her bachelor's in psychology at the University of Kentucky with honors in May 2023. In her career so far, she has enjoyed assisting in a variety of ways including as an optometric technician (2019-2022) and assisting as a dissertation research assistant along with being a co-author on a published article in the Cancer Adjustment Risk of Smoking lab under the mentorship of Dr. Jessica Burris (2022-2024). Additionally, Katie assisted the BH WELL team with organizing/promoting events, creating blog stories, and website support. Katie is passionate about pursuing a career that involves patient care, mental health counseling, and advocating for victims of SA.
