Janet Otachi, Ph.D., MA, has a PhD in social work and is a Licensed Social Worker in Kentucky. She worked with BH WELL as a project coordinator until completion of her PhD. In August 2021, she accepted a position with the Healing Community Study as their Partnership and Interventions Manager. She has worked with vulnerable populations both in Sub-Saharan Africa and in the United States in health services research, gender-based violence prevention, HIV prevention, and in enhancing evidence-based practices in substance use and mental health. Dr. Otachi's research interests are in evidence-based tobacco treatment interventions, social policy, addressing health disparities, and tracking and evaluation of public health programs to enhance evidence-based practice.
