Dr. Chizimuzo T.C. Okoli is serving as a visiting scholar at the Chang Gung University of Science and Technology (CGUST) in Linkou, Taiwan during Spring 2025. Dr. Okoli’s goals while at CGUST include: 

 

1.      Presenting lectures and workshops on mental health literacy, research methods, and topics in the global nursing profession. 

 

2.      Supporting faculty and students in scholarly writing and research publications. 

 

3.      Collaborating on research on biological, psychological, social, and spiritual environments which affect mental health and illness. 

Chang Gung University of Science and Technology (CGUST) is located in Linkou, Taiwan. CGUST began in 2011. According to the school’s website, “Foreseeing the growing demand for high-quality medical personnel, Mr. Yong-Ching Wang founded the Institute with the aim of cultivating talented individuals in society and named the school after his father, Chung-Gung Wang, to commemorate him. A 2-year nursing internship program organized by the Ming Chi College of Technology (now known as Ming Chi University of Technology) in 1983” was the forerunner of CGUST, which has two colleges, a Center for General Education, three graduate programs, six departments and four centers. 

 

Chizimuzo T.C. Okoli, PhD, MPH, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, NCTTP, FAAN is a Professor at University of Kentucky College of Nursing, Executive Director of Behavioral Health Wellness Environments for Living and Learning (BH WELL), Co-Director of Bridging Research Efforts and Advocacy Towards Healthy Environments (BREATHE), and Director of Behavioral Health Research and Evidence Based Practice and Tobacco Treatment Services at Eastern State Hospital. He served as past president of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and has been inducted into the Sigma Nursing Honor Society International Researcher Hall of Fame. He is an American Association of Nursing Fellow and a Fulbright Specialist. 

 

Housed within the University of Kentucky College of Nursing, BH WELL exists to promote behavioral health and wellness among individuals facing behavioral health challenges. The BH WELL research team members are experts in behavioral health integration and change.
